Photo, Video and Graphic of the Week
Greetings from the wild outdoors (actually, more like my apartment's balcony, with a nice tall glass of lemonade)! If you haven't had enough Bro-Am 2010 photos, you're in luck! This week's photos were taken by Briana at this year's Bro-Am...here are my favorites:

If you look closely at his sunglasses, you can see what or who he's taking a photo of:

Maybe he should try to walk a tight rope.

Today's memory was sent in by my good friend Matt (HOLAAAAA!), who I met in January at the Kitchener show...here is his story:

My first Switchfoot concert was on their Nothing Is Sound tour back in 2006. I first joined Friends of the Foot in 2009 right before seeing them on their Hello Hurricane Tour, when I really fell in love with their music. I have three quick memories I'd love to share.

The first is in Kitchener, ON (Holla Lisa & Aki!!). I always loved the guitars Jon used, and the amps that Drew used. I asked Jon during the M&G about his Silvertone guitar. He looked a little surprised at first, but launched into a five-minute talk about where he got it, the modifications he did to it, and how much he loved that guitar. He seemed so stoked to talk about it! The same was true with Drew. He was telling me all the specs of his 65 Amps London head. I was impressed, to say the least, about how much the guys knew about their guitars and amps.

Another great memory I have is from last week, at the New Jersey (my home state!!) show with the Goo Goo Dolls. The show was, as many said, short and *interesting*, since Chad showed up 10 seconds before the show started. The best part, for me, was the after show. Jon played some amazing and heart-touching songs from the upcoming album. However, the best part of the night was being able to talk to him afterwards about how much his music has inspired me and gotten me through some tough times.

My favorite memory of all, is probably from July 4th weekend up in Montreal. At the M&G, Jon asked if there was anything I wanted him to play, and I quickly said Chem 6a. He said he'd see what he could do. During the concert, about 3 songs into the set, he began playing the intro to Chem 6a, and then went into Gone with it. He then looked at me and said, "That was for you, man!" with a mischievous smile. The fact that he also played that intro the next night in Vaughan, Ontario was amazing. Oh, and Tim's expression during the intro of This Is Your Life... it has a name now. "Relax guys, I got this." :)

Oh, and as a quick aside, I also enjoy the conversations I have with Romey regarding Lisa. :) - Matt

^*SCOWL* Thanks, Matt. I suppose.

VIDEOVIDEOVIDEO! This week was a great one for new songs, and we got to hear two brand new ones thanks to an aftershow in Jersey. But my favorite still has to be She Says (The Black Eyed Blues)...here's the video, taken by Matt:

I love how Jon got everyone to sing along at the end. That could be such a great future concert moment. I think Vice Verses may be one of those albums...raw and honest, and earnest. I have a feeling it's going to be killer. Your thoughts?

This week's graphic was sent in by Sarah! Check it out here:

So awesome!
Thanks Sarah!

Here's the latest chart news from our friends at We're Awakening:
"The Sound" is now sitting at No. 16 on Alternative in it's 12th week, up from No. 19 last week. In their respective 12th weeks, "Mess of Me" was No. 17 and "Meant to Live" was No. 19. We are on one of the best paces ever for a Switchfoot single on the Alternative charts! On the overall Rock Songs chart, "The Sound" leaps from 33-28.

"Your Love Is a Song" is a bit more stagnant on the Christian music front, holding at No. 12 at Christian CHR and up 33-32 on Christian Songs. "The Sound" is back up to No. 2 on Christian Rock.

Keep requesting the song!
