We just need to take a moment to give you guys a round of applause. Our friends at SFfootsoldiers just reported the following:
Congrats guys! We did it! We put this song up there with the likes of “Meant to Live” and “Dare You To Move” – that’s huge! Give yourselves a BIG round of applause… and let’s keep going! Maybe we can get to #1? Keep requesting the song!
The guys are in LA tonight for the Living Social event/Q&A (remember that?), and while we’re still waiting for more details, photos and videos (counting on you attendees!) we have located this awesome shot of Jon from the event – love the studio lighting/set!:

^ Check out Jon stepping on Drew’s foot!

Yay! Thanks for posting my show update
Last time Switchfoot played SpiritSong, it was the first time they ever played “Needle” live. Unforgettable. It’ll be good to have them back in Cincinnati.
Uh, I wish I was going to the Invisible Children show, but I just started a new job this week and I got scheduled to work. I figured it would be all that great of an idea to say oh I can’t work then I would rather go to a concert, lol.
So, I cheered and clapped when reading this good news. Seriously. I am sooooooo happy for their success, I had been praying this new album would be a success for the guys. YAYEEEE! Thats a spiffy pic of Jon-luvn the peacoat, and I’m sure people are satisfied he finally cut his hair *rolling eyes*
That interview was pretty funny too! Thx, Jeanna!
YAAAAAAAY Switchfoot! I’m so pleased.
I forgot to mention – Switchfoot is officially announced for Creation Festival 2012 even though it’s not on their tour dates yet.
Hey thanks for the tip! We’ll post that on our next update
This is awesome! Well, technically, it’s number five on the Alternative Songs chart, not the Rock Songs chart (or the Modern Rock Songs chart – which I don’t think even exists), but the highest “Meant to Live” got was on the same chart, at number five. However, “Meant to Live” and “Dare You to Move” got much more rotation on things like the Top 40, so it both were probably much more popular than “Dark Horses” is now. However, it’s still great news!
Oh definitely, but at least we’ve gotten Dark Horses on the same path! So let’s up it will take off on the Top 40 from here!
Do you know how the Top 40 works? I know it’s based on radio play, but do the songs that make it have to be playing on certain types of stations and/or on specific stations? If yes, then radio play from what types of stations and/or what specific stations determine what makes it to the Top 40? Are alternative stations included? It would make sense they’re not, because you don’t hear too many alternative songs on the Top 40 today, and I’m pretty sure that most of the alternative songs that do make it have been released to multiple formats, including rock and pop. But maybe alternative stations are included and it’s just that there are more pop and other stations around, and therefore songs released to those formats are played more often, or, if only specific stations are included, then more pop and other stations are included than alternative stations (or both). If you understand how it all works, please explain. Thanks!
“Top 40″ usually refers to the top 40 entries in the Billboard 100, which is based on a combination of sales and total airplay (all stations).
how many people visit LOBH every day? when is the website most visited?
Whoa! AWESOME pic of Jon!!! And that’s great about Dark Horses!!!
This is completely not related, but does anyone want to convince Switchfoot to make a new 2012 calender.. i’m in need of a new one and can’t find any ones that I’ve liked as much as such..
you know what? i was JUST thinking about the same thing. 2012 calendar.
I was sad it wasn’t in the Christmas package either. But then I figured I should make one myself!
There are these sites y’know, where you can let them make for you? You just send in pictures and then you have a SFcalender!
Really? What sites do you use? Cause I was thinking of doing that but I didn’t know where to do it….
Walgreens.com does
I love that picture of Jon. So rad!
Great interview. “Well, you see. We make our setlist, like 5 minutes before the show, then we change it.”
What happened to the surprise that had something to do with ’55′? Podcast?
Yes, I ask the same question ^^
Let me rephrase that-When is the new podcast coming out?
